Built to take on the World!
Few engines have earned a reputation quite like Nissan’s legendary RB six-cylinder platform.
From the streets to circuit racing, time attack, roll racing and some of the quickest import drag cars in the world, the RB has proven itself capable of producing incredible horsepower. But as power, cylinder pressure and engine speed increase, so too do the demands being placed on the crankshaft and rotating assembly.
That is exactly where the latest Innovators West Nissan RB Harmonic Balancer range comes in.

Developed for some of the harshest harmonic damping requirements found in high-performance RB applications, this new range brings Innovators West’s proven racing damper technology to Nissan’s premier inline-six engine family.
Built Through Collaboration. Built to Take on the World.
This range is the result of a collaboration between Innovators West, Prime Speedworks, Mack Racing and PRP, bringing together specialist damper technology, performance parts knowledge and real-world experience from some of the most extreme RB-powered racing applications.
The objective was simple:
Develop a harmonic damper range capable of supporting the next generation of serious RB engines and build it to take on the world.
Prime Speedworks brought an understanding of the rapidly evolving RB performance market and the requirements being seen across high-horsepower street, roll-racing and drag racing combinations.
Mack Racing brought the demands of real competition where engines are operating at enormous cylinder pressures, extreme RPM and power levels that expose weaknesses very quickly.
Innovators West brought decades of specialist harmonic damper development and motorsport experience to engineer a solution specifically around those requirements.
Rather than adapting an existing product and calling it an RB damper, the goal was to develop a range around what modern RB engines are actually becoming.
More power. More RPM. More cylinder pressure. More demanding crankshaft combinations.
And ultimately, a harmonic damper designed to go racing against the best in the world.

When Power Goes Up, Harmonic Control Matters
A high-performance RB engine is a very different proposition to the engine Nissan originally delivered.
Big turbochargers, aggressive ignition timing, increased cylinder pressure, billet crankshafts, dry-sump systems and engine speeds well beyond factory limits can create an extremely demanding environment for the crankshaft.
Every combustion event creates a torsional pulse through the crankshaft. At high power and RPM, those pulses can create significant harmonic vibration through the rotating assembly.
Controlling that energy becomes increasingly important as the engine is pushed harder.
A properly engineered harmonic damper isn't simply another accessory hanging from the front of the crankshaft; it is an important part of protecting the rotating assembly and maintaining stability throughout the engine's operating range.
Innovators West Damping Technology
Innovators West takes a different approach to conventional elastomer-style harmonic balancers.
At the heart of the design is a free-floating wet-friction clutch assembly, combining spring-loaded inertia rings and clutch packs to provide damping across a broad operating range.
The internal fluid performs two important functions: lubricating the clutch assembly while also transferring generated heat through the aluminium housing.
For an engine such as the RB, where high RPM, large power levels and rapidly changing engine speeds are common, that broad damping capability is exactly what serious performance applications demand.

Designed for Serious RB Applications
The new Nissan RB range has been developed with the modern performance market in mind.
Whether you're building a responsive street RB, a 1,500-plus horsepower roll-racing combination or an all-out drag racing engine operating at extreme cylinder pressures and RPM, managing crankshaft harmonics becomes increasingly important as the limits are pushed.
The range is aimed squarely at the engines that have made the RB platform legendary, including applications based around the:
RB20 • RB25 • RB26 • RB30
…and the countless hybrid and billet combinations that have evolved from them.
This isn't just about supporting factory-style engine combinations.
It's about providing a damping solution for what the RB platform has become.
Built for Racing
Innovators West harmonic dampers feature a lightweight billet aluminium housing, stress-proof steel hub and precision steel inertia rings, combining strength with reduced rotating mass.
The dampers also utilise Innovators West's proven friction-style damping system and are built to exceed SFI 18.1 requirements, making them suitable for serious motorsport applications where safety and component integrity matter.
For racers pushing RB engines into territory Nissan's engineers could never have imagined, that matters.

The RB Continues to Evolve
More than three decades after the RB first established itself as one of Japan's great performance engines, development of the platform hasn't slowed down.
Billet blocks, billet crankshafts, improved cylinder heads, modern engine management, enormous turbocharger technology and better fuel systems have taken RB performance to extraordinary levels.
The components surrounding the engine now need to evolve with it.
The new Innovators West RB Harmonic Balancer range has been developed with exactly that philosophy in mind:
Better control of crankshaft harmonics, greater confidence in high-RPM applications and a damper designed for the brutal environment created by today's highest-performing Nissan RB engines.
This is what happens when Innovators West, Prime Speedworks and Mack Racing bring their respective experience together around one goal:
